ANATOLII DMITRIEVICH POGREBNYAK
Candidate of Technical Sciences, and Honorary Scientific Coworker of the S. P. Timoshenko Institute of Mechanics,
National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.
Born 1 January 1936. Graduated in 1960 by the Mechanical Faculty of the Kiev Institute of Engineers of the Civil Air
Fleet. Has worked in the Mechanics Institute, National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine since 1963. Defended his Candidate
dissertation in 1968. Conferred the scientific rank of senior scientific coworker in 1975. Over a decade, performed scientific-
organizational work, becoming Scientific Secretary of the Scientific Council on the problem Mechanics of deformable rigid
bodies, of the Academy of Sciences of the Ukrainian SSR.
Basic trends in scientific study: fatigue strength of structural steels and alloys with allowance for the effects of high
temperatures, aggressive media, the nonstationary nature of loading, and other factors, and structural-kinematic methods of
estimating fatigue strength; methods of computing and predicting cyclic longevity, and the mechanics of fatigue failure.
Author (coauthor) of more than 100 scientific studies, including three monographs and five author certificates for
innovations.
IGOR IVANOVICH ISHCHENKO
Candidate of Technical Sciences, and scientific coworker of the S. P. Timoshenko Institute of Mechanics, National
Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.
Born 19 September 1916. Graduated in 1940 from the Leningrad Institute of Civil Aviation Engineers. Has worked
in the Mechanics Institute, National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine since 1940. A veteran of the second World War --
engaged in combat. Defended his Candidate dissertatio
