Beijing Forestry University, Beijing 100083, China Abstract: Analsysis on retardant properties of fire-retardant medium density fiberboard(MDF) used BL fire retardant chemical scanning electron microscope, oxygen index instrument, thermogravimetry analyser showed that BL fire retardant chemical was an excellent kind of P-N retardant with advantages such as effective fire retardant and smoke suppressant, easy to operate. Even distribution of the chemical among fibres during pressing could promote carbonization of the board and effectively retard combustion. The physical and mechanical quality of the board could meet national standard for excellent board. The board had obvious fire-retardant effect, and low weight loss rate which was about 6%, oxygen index was about 50%.
