World English :a blessing or a curse?For English is a killer, the internationalization of English has been discussed in a few decades. Other language has no threat to English. If English is a curse and a killer, it may only be so in the sense that any large language is likely to influence and endanger smaller languages. It brings us strength, organization, freedom and unity. So English is both a curse and blessing. We should seek to benefit as fully as possible for the blessing and as far as possible avoid invoking the curse.The transformation of marriageThe most and radical challenge to traditional marriage, which contact between a man and a woman, like “group marriage” of 1960s, ”open marriage” of 1970s and the cohabitation, reject the religious template. If we oversight the social right of marriage pertain to such matters as parenthood, property ownership, guardianship and inheritance. Then we should grant marriage license only to heterosexual couples. If we regard marriage as loving and lifelong commitment, then the interspecies marriage is possible, such as human beings and aliens or pets. If the element of sexuality is removed from the definition of marriage . Then the marriage of human beings to inanimate objects becomes theoretically possible. So the true marriage should include the factors that social rights, loving and lifelong commitment and sexuality.Thank God it’s MondayPeople who love their jobs feel challenged by their work but in control of it. Beyond a certain minimum level, it isn’t pay or benefit; it’s strong relationship with co-workers and a supportive boss. A job that looks good on paper can make a work miserable. And the desire for meaning is so strong that sometimes people simply create it, especially to make sense of difficult or unpleasant work. The attention they were getting was what made them happier and more effective. So the happiness of work include the factors that good relationship, a supportive boss, meaning and attention. Broader
