Southw est Jiaotong Un iversity, Chengdu 610031, Sichuan, China) Abstract: Them ain bridge of Edong Changjiang River Bridge is a hybrid girder cab lestayed bridgew ith 1km m ain span. The structure behavior features of Edong Changjiang R iverBridge s construction are introduced, including obvious nonlin earity and independence bewt een m idspan and side span in construction period, which are d ifferent from the features of steel box girder cab led bridge. Accord ing to structural behavior in construction period, overall control concepts, control key factors, line shape control m ethod, stress controlm ethod in m idspan and side span, cable tension control method are dis cussed. Construction experience ind icates that the theoretical calcu lation is in well accordance w ith the field resu lts; line shape conditions correspond to the stress cond itions and the structure isunder control, wh ich proves the availab ility of those keym ethods.
