Abstract: the author analyzes the market demand for architectural decoration professional talents, this paper discusses the necessity of cultivating the ability of students design, detailed introduces the teaching methods and countermeasures of cultivating the ability of students design, so as to improve students quality, the high quality for the society of architectural decoration engineering professionals.

Economic prosperity and social progress have promoted the rapid development of the construction decoration industry. In order to meet the demand of the market, many vocational schools have established architectural decoration majors. Our school according to the industry development and market changes, constantly adjust the direction of talent cultivation and constantly enriching the connotation of the professional, college graduates not only widely recognized by the employment market, employment direction and trend of through various channels and in various fields gradually. This paper discusses the teaching objectives and methods of 5-year higher vocational construction technology.
1. The demand of professional talents for architectural decoration
