Basic Structure and working principle of screw air compressor Usually referred to as screw compressor, that is twin-screw compressor. Basic structure of screw compressor: In the airframe of the compressor, a pair of intermeshing helical rotors are arranged in parallel. A rotor with a convex tooth outside the pitch circle is usually called a positive rotor or a positive screw. The rotor with concave teeth in the pitch circle is called the negative rotor or the negative rotor.
