The corncob residue, a lignocellulosic waste from xylose manufactory, was found to be an effective carbon source for laccase production and the suitable corncob residue concentration to be used is 20.0 g⋅L− 1. The addition of 10.0 g⋅L− 1 glucose into culture medium could promote the growth of mycelium in the prophase and benefit the laccase synthesis during the anaphase. The most suitable C/N ratio of culture medium is 20 and adding appropriate amounts of Cu2+ (0.10 mmol⋅L− 1) and ascorbic acid (1.50 mmol⋅L− 1) could obviously enhance the laccase production. The experiments of producing laccase by Coriolus versicolor in a 3.7 − 1 L fermentor show that, with the above suitable condition and the most appropriate aeration rate of 100 L⋅h , after 144 h the
