Research Institute of QiLu Petrochemical Co., Zibo 255400, China) Abstract: Aerobic and anaerobic degradability of Ethylenediaminetetraethylene acid(E TA)were measured on Warburg respirometer and anaerobic batch reactors.Biodegradation of E TA as a single substancewas poor, but biodegradation of E TA with co-substrate could be improved.Thewastewater containing E TA can be treated by activated sludge pro- cess.T he E TA removal efficiency was 80% under the circumstance HRT 16h and E TA removal efficiency reached to 921 5%~ 951 1% when HRT was 20h.T he main factor affecting the biodegradability of E TA is sludge remained time.
