[ Abstract] Objective: To investigate the chem ical constituents ofPotentilla chinensis. M ethod: Silica gel colum n chrom atog
raphy and Sephadex LH - 20 gel colum n chromatographyw ere emp loyed for the isolation and purfication. The structuresw ere identified
on the basis of spectral data and chem ical evidence. R esult: Six com poundsw ere isolated and identified as follows: 3hydroxy11urs
en28, 13olide, 11, 12dehydroursolic acid lactone ( 1), 3Oacetyl pom olic acid ( 2), betulinic acid ( 3), 3oxo12ursen28oic
acid ( 4), ursolic acid ( ), olean ic acid ( 6). Conclousion: A ll these com poundswere isolated from P. chinensis for the first tmi e,
compound 1, 2, 4 w ere isolated from th is genus for the first tmi e.
