Based on the practice of pipeline integrity management, the paper analyzes the present challenges facing the safe running of pipeline, including different cognition ability, low safety management behavior, pipeline construction and running capacity limited by imperfect standards or codes, pipeline development outpacing technical reserve, and deficiency of professional technical service level and strength. The practice and gains in integrity technology and management are listed, such as the key factors of pipeline cracking accidents, best practices of pipeline detection and evaluation, and the reform of management and decision-making mode.
