The exceptional numerical capabilities of the NASTRAN are used in order to reduce the computational time and increase the mesh size of the existing “in-house” nonlinear finite element code. The new numerical enhancement permits to study more complex problems that were previously limited to simple geometries and boundary conditions. The newly developed solution procedure for the analysis of the nonlinear response of flat panels subjected to uniform random loading is analyzed for a 3×3 bay-panel.
