Developing DSWSM’s mathematical model will benefit its control and application. The inductive parameters and models in the d-q circuit are derived firstly in the paper by a unified expression for calculating inductances of AC machines and double d-q transformations respectively. The results is the same as the one in reference. Then a single winding equivalent model for DSWSM is presented with Thevenin theorem, which make DSWSM work like a common synchronous motor. Finally, theoretical analysis and the simulation results validate the equivalent model. The modeling method can be applied in other type of dual winding motor and multiphase motor.
