Abstract: T he seismi resear h in the field of building stru tural engineering ondu ted in State Key
Laboratory for Disaster Redu tion in Civil Engineering of Tongji U niversity, China in re ent 10 y ears is
reviewed briefly in this paper. It mainly in ludes seismi ontrol studies of high-rise building stru tures
w ith appli ation, studies of base isolation, a new type of seismi energy-dissipation shear w all, dynami
soi-l stru ture intera tion, on rete-filled re tangular tubular stru tures, seismi performan e of high-rise
building and ultra-tall building stru tures, and so forth. The basi resear h work is signifi antly mean-
ingful to engineering pra ti e and most of the resear h a omplishments have been applied in pra ti e
su essfully .
