河姆渡遗址（Hemudu site） Hemudu Site ruins and Hemudu Site culture are the Neolithic cultural relics in the lower reaches of the Yangtze River in China. They have a long history of 7000 years. Because it was first discovered in Hemudu Site, Yuyao County of Zhejiang province in 1973, its cultural characteristics were representative in archaeology, and it was named as Hemudu Site culture in 1976. The site is mainly distributed on the south coast of the Hangzhou Bay, Ning (Bo) Shao (Xing) plain, South to Xiangshan port, and the East Zhejiang coastal area, including the Zhoushan islands. The discovery and establishment of Hemudu Site culture has expanded the field of Chinese Neolithic Archaeology Research, indicating that there is also a splendid ancient Neolithic culture in the Yangtze River basin. From November 1973 to January 1974, archaeological experts of Zhejiang Province Cultural Relics Management Committee and the Provincial Museum, with the construction of farmland water conservancy, the Hemudu Site ruins of the first period of archaeological excavations, made a breakthrough. In October 1977, archaeologists conducted second archaeological excavations on the site, the site opened two times the total area of 2630 square meters, found 27 tombs, 28 pits, unearthed stone tools, pottery, wood, stone and other types of more than 6300 pieces of cultural relics, many of which are historically rare treasures, enrich the connotation of the culture of Hemudu Site that has caused the national attention in the field of Archaeology and history. Chinas famous archaeologist Xia Nai referred to the discovery since the founding of the Neolithic Archaeology is a major achievement, and points out that the significance of Hemudu Site culture said the lower reaches of the Yangtze River in the importance of early Neolithic, here at that time had a well-developed culture.
