Although engineers are familiar with the quality factor MOSFET data manual, but in order to choose an appropriate MOSFET, engineers must use their professional knowledge of different specifications for each specific application of careful consideration. For example, for the load server power switch in this type of application, because the MOSFET basically has been in the conducting state, the switching characteristics of MOSFET is of no great importance, and on resistance (RDS (ON)) may be the key factor of this application. However, there are still some applications, such as switching power supply, the MOSFET as the active switch, so engineers must evaluate the performance parameters of other MOSFET. Let us consider some priority and its application MOSFET specifications. The most common MOSFET application may be switching element in power supply, in addition, they will be of great advantage on the power output. The application server and communication equipment are generally configured with a plurality of parallel power supply, to support the N+1 redundancy and continuous work (Figure 1). The parallel power supply load sharing, to ensure the system even in a power failure situation can still continue to work. However, this architecture also need a way to output parallel power supply connected together, and to ensure that the fault does not affect a power supply to other power supply. The output of each power supply terminal, a power MOSFET can make all the power to share the load, while the power supply are isolated.
