Name HCG introduce Human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG), a glycoprotein secreted by trophoblast cells of the placenta, consists of two subunits, a- and b-. HCG enters mother blood after fertilization and rapidly grows up to the eighth week of pregnancy, then slows down until eighteenth to 20 weeks, then remains stable.
