[Abstract] Objective To investigate the association of survivin promoter –31G/C polymorphism with tumor risk in Chinese population. Method An electronic search of the database PubMed, Medline, CNKI and etc. was carried out to identify relevant studies. The inclusive and exclusive criteria were used for selection of studies. All meta-analyses were performed by using the software Stata, version 11.0. Odds ratios (OR) with 95% confidence intervals (CI) were used to assess the association. Results In Chinese population, carriage of C allele at the –31G/C site of survivin promoter showed a 1.30-fold higher increased tumor risk than carriage of G allele (OR=1.30, 95%CI: 1.08–1.56). Moreover, carriage of C/C genotype was found to be associated with a significant higher increased tumor risk than other genotypes of this polymorphism. Conclusion This polymorphism may be a candidate genetic marker to the development of tumor in Chinese population. [Keywords] Survivin gene；polymorphism；tumor；meta-analysis –31G
