It is the indispensable part in disaster prevention and reduction sys- tem of a city. M ain types of natural disasters and their regional distribution characteristics in the urban ar- eas in China w ere analyzed. T he urban green space system for preventing and avoiding natural disasters w ere discussed in the aspects of spatial types, scales, distribution characteristics, functional requirements and element of design.
