Write and talk about a joke in the past Period 1 Step1 Discussion 1a. (The activity introduces new vocabulary which can be used to narrate past events) 1. Revise what the past participle form of a verb(it is the same as the past form for a regular verb) and tell them to remember the irregular verbs’ participles one by one after school. 2. Show the phrase: by the time……. And show them some sentences with several pictures about the Past Perfect tense.. Let students understand what the Past Perfect tense is! Show them the structure of the Past Perfect tense (had ﹢ 动词的过去分词) 3. Discuss these questions in a group, then ask some students to answer.(some pictures) ① What do you usually do in the morning before school ② Do you like mornings? Why or why not? 4. Call the students’ attention to the pictures in Activity 1a and ask them to tell what they see.
