According to the syndrome differentiation of Chinese medicine, there are 3 types of treatment for Huangqi Jianzhong Decoction, namely, deficiency of spleen and stomach, weakness of spleen and stomach, Qi deficiency and blood stasis. 45 cases of duodenal ulcer were treated with Huangqi Jianzhong Decoction, of which 14 cases were cured, accounting for 31.1%; 27 cases were improved, accounting for 60%; 4 cases were invalid, accounting for 8.9%. The total effective rate was 91.1%. Huangqi Jianzhong Tang (Radix Astragali strengthening the spleen and Stomach Decoction is suited to treat insufficiency) of the Spleen-Yang, weakness of the spleen and the stomach and deficiency of Qi and blood stasis on the basis of differentiation of symptoms and signs of TCM to duodenal bulbar ulcer. There were 14 cases cured (for 31.1%), 27 cases on the mend (for 60%) and 4 cases failed to respond (for 8.9%) in 45 patients with duodenal bulbar ulcer treated by modified Radix Astragali strengthening the spleen and Stomach Decoction, in which the effective rate is 91.1% in all.
