I hope you dont mind. 2. put put the fire 3.let out the dogs 4.tore up the letter 5.turned on the TV 6.woke up the children 7.took down the notes 8.turned off the computer 9.threw away the paper * I was sitting outside the school gate while the stars were falling in the sky. * Key structures: What were you doing when I telephoned? ☆when和while都表示当……的时候 While I was playing computer games, my mother came in. while+从句，动作一定会延续 When Alice came in ,we were playing games. when+延续性动作/瞬间动词 * 过去进行时： 在过去的某一点时间，或者是过去某一动作同时发生的另外一个动作。 瞬间动词（如arrive）无进行时态。 同时发生的两个动作 1.一个用一般过去时，另一个用过去进行时。 When someone knocked at the door,I was having dinner. 2.分工的情况，均用过去进行时 When I was doing my homework,my mother was cooking. * 一般过去时和过去进行时： 正在进行的状态和动作用过去进行时，表示一个持续的动作。 而插入的动作用一般过去时，表示一个突然发生的动作。 过去进行时可以用来表示在一定的时间段内没有被打断的动作。
