Abstract T he analy sis of Inconel alloy Oring of reactor pressure vessel RPV w as
conducted by finite element method FEM w ith tw o dimensional nonlinear elastoplastic
model Based on the verification w ith ex periment s the inf luences of the g roove depth
g roove gap on the f lange ring slot on the sealing perf ormance w ere investigated T he
result s show that the silver coating has no remarkable eff ect on def ormation characteris
tics of Oring so the silver coating can be ignored w hen the O ring is analyzed by FEM
T he g roove depth and groove gap are the key parameters w hich have important eff ect on
the Oring sealing perf ormance For the Oring involved w ith RPV the optimal values
