Though a film, the viewer can understand the people who come from different countries about the way of life and their attitudes towards the life. The legend experience of the main character Gump from the American film Forrest Gump has leaved a deep impression on us. From this film we have known the ideological conceptions and values which are inherited generation by generation in America. This paper aims to analyze the American ideas and values which are reflected from Forrest Gump, including the American dream, the American optimism and the American belief.
