土壤专家裴保义介绍（Soil expert Pei Baoyi introduced） Pei Baoyi (1914 - 1983), soil and fertilizer scientist. He devoted all his life to the teaching and research work of soil and fertilizer science, and contributed to the development of soil and fertilizer science, the training and popularization of soil and Fertilizer Science in china. Born in Hubei, Hankou Province in March 19, 1914. When I was a teenager, I read private school for several years. In 1928, he was admitted to the Wuchang Wenhua middle school founded by the church. In 5 years, he completed the course of 6 years in the middle school and got the best results. During high school, he is interested in learning biology, the ideological basis of agricultural science laid the day after. He was admitted to the Agricultural College of Jinling University in 1934, and began his life path of devotion to agriculture. He moved to Chengdu in 1937 and graduated in 1938 with a bachelors degree in agriculture. After graduation he served as assistant economics, investigation of soil survey and economic conditions in rural areas has participated in the Sichuan province. In 1942, at the invitation of Professor Huang Ruicai, he was transferred to the Department of Agronomy as a lecturer and was engaged in the teaching and research work of soil fertility and fertilizer science. In 1945, the China Society of soil was founded, and Pei Baoyi was one of the first members of the society. In the same year, he went to the United States for further study and worked at Cornell University and University of Wisconsin for further studies and internships. He returned to China in 1946 as an associate professor and professor of Agronomy at the Jinling university. In 1952, after the adjustment of the institutions of higher learning in the country, Pei Baoyi served as professor of soil and agricultural chemistry at the Nanjing Agricultural College and participated in the investigation of soil in the coastal reclamation area of Northern Jiangsu provi
