In this paper the dahuanghuanglianxiexin Tang and Lizhongwan (Tang) of ancient and modern literature research, clinical research and pharmacological research basis, starting from the acetic acid induced gastric ulcer in rats, the related pharmacodynamics and mechanism of two party system in-depth discussion, the different mechanism of two prescriptions to treat syndrome of cold and heat property contrary to the same syndrome and gastric ulcer induced by acetic acid daub to clear. Methods: Wistar rats were randomly divided into blank control group, sham operation group, model control group, rhubarb Huanglian Xiexin Decoction group and Lizhong pills (decoction) group. The rat gastric ulcer model was reproduced by acetic acid coating method.
