Methods: the serum anti keratin antibodies were detected by indirect immunofluorescence in 50 cases of senile rheumatoid arthritis and 30 patients with rheumatic myalgia in the frozen tissue of 1/3 esophagus in Wistar rats. Results: 50 cases of elderly patients with rheumatoid arthritis, 29 cases of serum anti keratin antibody positive, and in 30 cases of polymyalgia rheumatica patients, only 7 cases of patients with serum anti keratin antibody positive, the difference was statistically significant. Follow up observation for 8 months to 3.5 years, serum anti keratin antibody positive in 7 cases, 5 cases of correct diagnosis for elderly rheumatoid arthritis, and in 23 cases of serum anti keratin antibody negative patients, only 1 cases were diagnosed as correction of senile rheumatoid arthritis, the difference was statistically meaning. Conclusion: the serum anti keratin antibody may be a diagnosis of senile rheumatoid arthritis serum specific antibody; anti keratin antibody positive and polymyalgia rheumatica symptoms may be early senile patients with rheumatoid arthritis.
