It is a good way to promote the development of Chinese textile industry by carrying out textile education and scientific research. As a famous textile expert in modern China, Lei Binglin invented Lei’s high drafting and two-hole guiding trumpet in 1936. Lei’s high drafting obtained many patents from government of China and many other countries. Lei Binglin is a pioneer in textile scientific research in modern China. Chunzuo’s high drafting and Fangjian’s high drafting were inspired by Lei’s high drafting, which further promoted development of textile scientific research in modern China. By discussing Lei Binglin and his inventions, Lei Binglin’s exploitation of textile scientific research and his inspiration for other high drafting inventions, this paper triggers thinking of development of textile scientific research in modern China.
