Master the typical sentences and expressions in terms of payment. 掌握支付的惯用句型和表达法。 5.1 Letters about Discussing Terms of Payment In international trade, different methods of payment are adopted, depending mainly on the relationship between the seller and the buyer. There are mainly three modes of payment in international trade: Remittance, Collection and Letter of Credit (L/C). 5.1.1 Usual Terms of Payment in a Sales Contract（销售合同的常用付款方式） 1. Remittance 2. Collection 3. Letter of Credit 1. Remittance Remittance, as the simplest method of payment in international trade, means that a bank, at the request of its customer, transfers a certain sum of money to its overseas branch or correspondent bank, instructing it to pay a named person in that country. 2. Collection A collection, a kind of commercial credit, refers to an arrangement whereby the seller draws a draft on the buyer and authorizes its bank to collect the money from the buyer. 3. Letter of Credit A letter of credit, as a kind of banking credit, is a document issued by a bank stating its commitment to pay an exporter a stated amount of money on behalf of an importer so long as the exporter meets specific terms and conditions. 5.1.2 Sample Letters of Discussing Terms of Payment（讨论付款方式函电的范例） 1.
