It has a profound influence on the thinking and culture of the westerners. The stories in the Bible are also widely circulated, forming a large number of idioms which enrich the oral and written expressions of english. Thomas, one of the twelve disciples, was not seen by Jesus after his resurrection, and claimed that he was not resurrected unless he saw the nail mark on Jesuss hand and put his hand into his side. Later, people use doubting Thomas to refer to people who refuse to trust others easily. Hes a real doubting Thomas simply wouldnnt believe Id - he won the car until he saw it with his own eyes. he is a real skeptic before did not see he is not believe I won the car. 2.the, apple, of, the/ones, eye (pupil in the eye) From the seventeenth chapter of the Old Testament Psalm, Keep me as the apple of the eye. (ask you to protect me, like protecting the pupil of the eye) In addition, kept him as, the, apple, of, his, eye. (He) in the book of Deuteronomy. (protect him as if he were protecting the pupil of the eye.). Now as a pearl in the palm , said the special important stuff. His youngest son was the apple of his eye. his youngest son is his darling. 3.an eye for an eye (an eye for an eye) Appearing repeatedly in the Bible, such as the 19 testament of the Old Testament Deuteronomy, Mose was ordained by God as the leader of the Israelites who became slaves in egypt. He issued a decree: The punishment is to be a life for a life, an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth, a hand for a hand and a foot for a foot. (life for life, with an eye
