Moreover, four mi provements are proposed for overcom ing som e shor-t com ings in the domestic development of information system: add ing the judgment of seism ic early-warn ing levels; expanding the w ays of inputting earthquake information; mi proving the computationalmodel of seism ic d isaster as- sessm ent for urban bu ild ing groups; and embedd ing counter-emergency modu le in the system and illum inating the resu lts by G IS visualization. Furthermore, ArcV iew9. 0-based information system for urban seism ic d isaster assess- ment and counter-emergencym easures is developed on the basis of the four mi provem ents and is demonstrated by the data about urban area of Yuncheng city in Shanx iProvince.
