The largest dictionary in the world is the Oxford English Dictionary, or OED _______ ________. 世界上最大的字典《牛津大字典》,简称OED。 二、易混易错知识点 so/such…that… 如此······以至于······ (1) so… that和such…that都可以引导结果状语从句,两者都是“如此···以至于···”的意思。但so 是副词,后接形容词或副词;such是形容词,后接名词或名词词组。 She spoke so loudly that everyone in the big hall could hear her. 她讲得如此响亮,以至于大厅里每个人都可以听到她的声音。 The book was written in such simple English that we could understand it easily. 这本书用如此简单的英语来写以至于我们都能很容易的理解。 (2) 在so…that与such…that结构中,如有带不定冠词的单数名词,且该名词前有形容词修饰时,这两种结构可互换,但要注意它们的词序不同。 so + adj. + a/an + n + that… such + a/an +adj. + n + that… This is such an interesting book that we all like reading it. This is so interesting a book that we all like reading it. 这本书是如此有趣以至于我们都喜欢看。 (3) 如果名词之前有many, much, few, little修饰时,习惯上只能用so…that…来表示结果。但当little 解释为“小”时,仍然使用such…that。 There were so few students present that the class was cancelled. 上
