A NEW METHOD FOR ESTABLISHING REGRESSION MODEL

Abstract The regression method is used to study the related but not determ ined relations betw een variables,
w hich isw idely used in the field of deform ation monitoring data processing and analyzing. The method based on
classical leas-t squares under the indirect adjustment model or on singu lar value decomposition under the overall
least-squares criterion for solving vegression parameters has some lmi itations in practical applications, itmay w eaken
the statistical sign ificance of the regression model and the sign ificance test evenw ill fail. A new method is proposed
that is to establish the approxmi ate regression equation by the traditionalmethod first, then am endment the regres-
sion modelby theTotalLeast-Squares. The feasibility and correctness of the new method are verified by the smi u la-
tion data and measured real deformation data and the pred iction accuracy can be mi proved.
