Lesson 35: The Dream Team
教案
教学目标
1. 能够掌握课标要求的“四会”词汇:gold,influence,coach。
2. 能了解更多有关梦之队的情况。
教学重难点
1. 掌握一些与介绍梦之队有关的词汇:dream,sports,gold,medal,player。
2. 介绍自己所了解的梦之队的情况。
3. 掌握以下重点句子:
(1)They had a great influence on people everywhere-not just in the Olympic Games.
(2)For Brazil, it might be the mens volleyball or soccer team.
(3)A dream team has not only the best players and the best coach, but also the team spirit.
(4)By working together, they perform better, and they never give up.
教学准备
录音机,幻灯片,图片。
教学过程
Step l Lead-in
Show the pictures to the students. Let them guess:
1. What team is it in Picture 1?
2. What is the name of the team in Picture 2?
Let the students answer the questions in class.
Step 2 Listening
Listen to the tape and fill in the blanks with the correct words you hear:
1. At the 1992 Olympics, the U. S. basketball team _________ all the other teams.
2. For Brazil, the dream team is the men’s _________ team.
3. For China, the ___________ teams are dream teams.
Finish the task in class orally.
Step 3 Reading
Read the passage and decide whether the following statements are true or false.
1. A dream team must win the gold medal in the game.
2. China has many dream teams.
3. All the players in the dream team must work hard.
Finish the task in class orally.
Step 4 Practice
Work in groups. Practice retelling the text. Then present it in front of the class. When the students act, they can use their own words.
Read the text again and find more questions about this text.
S1: What is really a dream team?
S2: What is the dream team in Canada?
S3: What is the main goal of a dream team?
Step 5 Activities
Suppose you want to write a short passage about a dream team. You dont know what to say. What can you do? Ask your classmates for advice.
Finish the task in groups. After a few minutes, some more students read their passages in front of the class.
Step 6 Come to “Let’s Do It!”
Read the passage and finish off Exercise 1.
