Me hods Each rat w ere received a contusion on its spinal cord at T 10 w ith a modified Allen! s im pactor. Follow ing 1, 3, 5, 7 and 14 days, the spinal cord of the rats w ere taken to conduct immunohistochemical staining for GAP43. GAP43 positive cells were counted and the integrated optical density ( IOD) w as also monitored. Resul s T he experssion of GAP43 w as show n to be in cytoplasm and processes of neurons, which being more significant in the former horn motor neurons.
