The result showed that effects of contents of nicotine, total sugar, and sugar/nicotine ratio on sensory quality and style of tobacco were the best. Tobacco strength was significantly and negatively correlated with the contents of reducing sugar and total sugar, and significantly and positively correlated with the contents of nicotine and total nitrogen. Tobacco sweet, aroma content, aroma quality and aftertaste were significantly and positively correlated with the contents of reducing sugar and total sugar, and significantly and negatively correlated with the contents of nicotine and total nitrogen. Fine and smooth and aftertaste tended to be better with the increasing potassium content, and pungent tended to be lower. With the increasing chlorine content, pungent tended to
