From the global scope, the aggravation of environmental pollution has brought a great threat to human health. In this background, governments make greater efforts to solve the problems of environmental pollution which bring harm and influence on human health, and set up specialized agencies and departments to solve the environmental problems. Application of persistent organic pollutants (POPs) in pesticides makes the pollution of agricultural products become serious. This paper investigated and evaluated the status of POPs in food, discussed the characteristics of POPs, and analyzed the origin, harm and present situation of POPs in food. Finally, this article put forward countermeasures for how to prevent the pollution and control the POPs.
