At the very beginning, the childrens museums were not built up for the preservation of collection but promotion of childrens education. By reviewing the 100 years development, it is found that the childrens museums have been largely affected by social-cultural context, such as concepts of raising child, children psychology, educational theories, educational policies, etc. The childrens museums are visitor-centered and social-oriented, and they are often affected by social changes of communities.
