Without their supports and constant encouragements, this thesis would not have become what it is. 摘要 本文共分三章。第一章对全文进行了简要介绍，对“基本颜色词”和“文化内涵”进行了定义。第二章是本文的主体，对汉语和英语基本颜色词的文化内涵进行了对比研究，分析了产生汉语和英语基本颜色词文化内涵相同点和不同点的原因。第三章总结全文随着人类文明的不断发展，表示颜色的词汇也相应地不断得到丰富，其意义也从原来表示某种单纯的颜色而派生出许多新的意义，从而使得人类的语言变得更加生动形象、丰富多彩。了解英汉文化的背景知识，掌握表示颜色的词汇在两种语言中的深层涵义，才能进行更有效、更顺利的交际关键词：文化内涵Abstract Language and culture are closely linked.
