Teaching goals 教学目标 1. Language goals 语言目标 a. Key Vocabulary 重点词汇和短语 damage, cause, effort, fifth, order, director, in order to b. Key sentences 重点句子 To save water is to save our lives In order to become a “green school” like Guiyang Experimental Primary School, a school must include environmental education as part of the timetable. 2. Ability goals 能力目标 Enable the students to master the usage of model verbs and to write some rules and suggestions using the model verbs. 3. Learning ability goals 学能目标 Help the students learn how to use the model verbs correctly and how to write some rules and advice using the model verbs. Teaching important/difficult points教学重难点 Let the students master the usage of model verbs correctly and make the students say and write such sentences freely. Teaching procedures and ways 教学过程与方式 Step I Check Homework (The student reads his/her passage. If he/she has some good rules and suggestions, the teacher can write down on the blackboard.) Step II Grammar Study Write the three sentences on the blackboard: You must go home before six o’clock. We should study hard. He can speak English. You must keep to the path. You mustn’t walk along the edge because you might fall and hurt yourself. You have to think about personal safety! We should start walking. We should pick up the rubbish. We can take a look across the countryside. No one can run faster in the forest than a bear. You can’t leave anything that bears might think is food. I may need a rest very soon. You may not want to go outside. T: Now please look at the sentences. All of them are sentences with model words. I think all of you know their meanings. But do you know the usage of them? (The teacher explains to the students the use and the difference between the model verbs.) Step III Practice The teacher prepares some signs ahead of time. Before doing Activity 1, show the signs to the class and ask the students to talk about them. Then the students can know more signs
