Targeting at the existing problems in preservation of fruits and vegetables in China, this review briefly described the classification and application of active packaging on the pre- servation of fruits and vegetables. Some research achievements of active packaging system had been acquired in the fields of antibacterial, deoxygenation, ethylene adsorption, control of carbon dioxide and so on, which could be applied in pre- servation of fruits and vegetables. Active packaging is characterized by such ad
