1. give a f ashion show 举行时装表演
2. raise money for Project Hope 为希望工程募捐
3. children in poor areas 贫困地区的儿童
4. 10 more minutes (=another 10 minutes) 再来10分钟
5. in bed 卧床,睡觉
on the bed 在床上
6. wear v. 穿着……,戴着……(强调状态) 如:He is wearing a yellow tie today.
put on v. 穿上……,戴上…… (强调动作)如:It’s cold outside. Put on your coat, please.
in (=wearing) prep. 穿着…… 如:The man in a pink shirt is my uncle.
dress v. 给……(某人)穿衣服 如:He is dressing his son.
7. I don’t know what to wear today. “疑问词+不定式”作宾语,又如:
I really don’t know what to read.
where to go.
when to leave.
how to go there.
who to ask for help.
8. I can spend 10 more minutes in bed then. 那么我就能在床上再呆10分钟了。
“数量+more+名词”表示在原有基础上再增加多少……,如:
I need 3 more candles. 我还需要3根蜡烛。
Many more people would like to come to the fashion show. 还有许多人要来看时装表演。

·Teaching procedures:
Step ⅠListening
Before listening, ask the students:
What kind of dog is Eddie?
What kind of clothes suit Eddie?
Do you think dogs need clothes?
Encourage the students to give their own answers.
Play the tape. Students listen and check their guessing.
Play the tape again. Students read after the tape and answer the following questions:
What does Eddie want to spend 10 more minutes on? (Sleeping.)
What does Hobe think of Eddie? (Too lazy.)
4. Ask some students to role-play the conversation in front of the class.
