At the same time, the demand of nails strip for fixing the carpet is increasing. The tradition method of producing the nails strip can not be satisfied with the demand. The design task is from this current situation. In order to reduce the production cost, a nail-strip production machine with higher production efficiency, high automation will be designed in the paper. The main task is to design the main mechanical structure of the machine to produce the nail-strip with the type of 1200mm×25mm×6mm. Based on the study status on the nail-strip production machines in and abroad, the main transmission system and the total structure of the machine are designed. The three-dimension design about the key components and the total transmission mechanism are carried on. Especially, the theoretical design on the main hydraulic cylinder and the nail feeding spring is carried out. At the same time, the simulation research on the working process of the machine is made. The nail-strip production machine in the paper adopts the hydraulic transmission. According to the automation function requirement, the machine includes four apartments, the punching mechanism, the nail feeding mechanism, the strip feeding mechanism and the strip entering mechanism. The main hydraulic cylinder is used to realize the function of stamping nails into the strip. The nail row clip is used to sends the nails to the stamping position after the stamping. The feeding hydraulic cylinder is used to realize the strip feeding function, after the former punching, the feeding hydraulic cylinder moves forward to a certain distance, preparing for the next punch.
