This work is licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution International License (CC BY). /licenses/by/4.0/ Abstract Objective: To investigate the feasibility and effects of the evidence-based nursing in the drainage of ascites due to hepatic cirrhosis via central venous catheter. Methods: 30 hepatic cirrhosis pa- tients with ascites were investigated. The theory and method of nursing were employed. Following the steps of question-raising, evidence-based supports and evidence-based application, the effects of evidence-based nursing measures on the prevention of the complications due to central venous drainage were analyzed steps of evidence-based nursing measures for the prevention of central venous drainage due to complications. Results: In this group, one patient was complicated by he- patic coma and electrolyte disturbances. No patients were complicated by catheter related infec- tion, the unplanned extubation happened to 2 patients. None of the catheters were blocked. Con- clusion: The clinical application of evidence-based nursing intervention in the drainage treatment of ascites due to hepatic cirrhosis via central venous catheter can promote nursing staff to guide and solve the clin
