This work is licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution International License (CC BY). /licenses/by/4.0/ Abstract Objective: Causes and countermeasures of accidental falls in hospitalized patients in Department of Respiratory Medicine were studied. Methods: A retrospective study of 6 patients with falls in the Department of Respiratory Medicine in 2014 was conducted. Result: The causes of falls in pa- tients were analyzed from the staff in the Medical and Inpatient Department, the environment, the mechanism and so on. The corresponding nursing measures were put forward. Conclusion: In the respiratory medicine daily health care work, it should strengthen the medical staff training and education and improve the internal environment of hospitals to lower the occurrence probability of the patient fall in all directions.
