Therefore, task-based language teaching will be adopted in this period. In addition, audio-visual method is adopted to attracts Ss’ attention. Teaching material learners 2.1 Teaching material The topic of this unit is friendship. Students learn this unit when they just enter high school, it is the time when students make new friends. So this unit is of great importance to students. This unit seeks to enable students to understand what is friendship, the importance of friendship and what attitude should we have towards friendship. Using language is the forth period of this unit. It consists of listening, reading speaking, and writing. So it aims to develop Ss’ English ability in every aspect. Furthermore, it stresses students’ abilities of practicing language and solving problems. 2.2 Leaners The Ss of my class are from Grade One in a key senior high school in Zhejiang province. In terms of their cognitive abilities, they have a large vocabulary, and they have mastered some reading skills. In terms of their learning style, they are interested in group work, so they will be easily activated by discussion. In terms of their phycology, they yearn for being encouraged and praised in the class. Moreover, it is the time for Ss to make new friends in high school, so this unit is helpful to them, so Ss will learn it eagerly and passionately.
