In the mean tmi e, the behavior and the failuremode of the protection layer under loading w ere clari fied, and the effects of constructionalm easures andw indow open ing on the seism ic behavior ofw allsw ere investiga ted. The test results reveal that from the beginn ing to the end, the outside layer of the composite concrete small sized hollow blockw allw as notmuch damaged, w hich show that the outside layer can be connected w ith the w all w ell and keep the normalw orking of the w all under vertical and horizontal load ing. Th is paper also show s that the w indow s hole w ill reduce the seism ic resistance of thew alls.
