Grammar and usage of Unit 1 Attributive Clause 安徽师范大学 外国语学院 陈山山 Good morning, teachers and students My name is Chen Shanshan. I’m so honored and pleasure to have the chance to be here sharing my lesson with you. Today, I’ll talk about Grammar and usage part of Unit 1, School Life in the UK, in the student’s Book 1. My teaching plan will include 5 parts: the analysis of teaching material, teaching aims, the important and difficult points, teaching methods and teaching procedure. Part 1 Analysis of teaching material The grammar item in this unit deals with attributive clauses. Students are first expected to learn about what an attributive clause is and the functions of relative pronouns and relative adverbs used to introduce attributive clauses. The teacher should first introduce what the attributive is, what can be used as an attributive, the teacher had better present some sentences containing the attributive clauses by asking the students to do some exercises. After that the teacher should give the students clear explanations about the usage of the grammar. Part 2 Analysis of the students In junior high school, students have learned some attributive clause structure, but it is still difficult for them to apply what they have learned into usage. The time, we will emphasize that students should keep subjectivity in the learning process through the creation of scenarios and mission. in cooperation with other members of the group and using the knowledge that they have learned, they could completed tasks perfectly. Part 3 Teaching objectives According to the new curriculum standard and the syllabus, and after studying the teaching material, I set the teaching aims as follows: Knowledge objectives：To give a brief introduction to attributive clauses; To make the students get familiar with attributive clauses and get them to know some more usages of relative pronouns.
