Everybody’s Fine 天伦之旅 Story Director :Kirk Jones Everybodys Fine is a fascinating tale about Frank (DeNiro), a widower who wants to get his four adult children together for dinner, but when one by one they all cancel for good reasons or lack of a better word excuses, he decides against the advice of his doctor, to make a surprise trip to all their residences in New York, Chicago, Denver, and Las Vegas. What the trip brings him however, is a heavy realization that despite what his late-wife told him, maybe everybodys not fine. The end of the story The last scene shows the family at Christmas . Frank is cooking the turkey and remembers that he never had the heart to tell his wife hers was overcooked. All three children are around the house helping cook and decorate the tree. Its also revealed that Rosie and Jilly are a couple and are raising the baby together. Amy is dating her co-worker whom she introduced her father to at the bus station. The film ends with Frank walking into the dining room, to his family, and a screenshot of everyone sitting at the table together. The highlights The father’s emotion is extremely real. For example:before he left his daughter’s home ,he took photoes of his nephew ,son-in-law and daughter happily.When he missed his family ,he can see the photoes. Besides the film is filled up with pure feeling . My viewpoint Everybodys Fine is a heartfelt, emotional film that will leave you in tears. Though the narrative could come off a bit over-dramatic at times, theres no denying the warmth that the film conveys to family and loyalty. We can feel the love between father and daughter . Everybodys Fine shows a beating heart. Theres no stupidity or attitude in its form, just pure feeling. If you come from a family of secrets for the greater good (which may be the majority of us), this will speak volumes. Director, Kirk Jones makes some great artistic choices, especially in the final scenes of the film. One thing however that
