To help students to make a perfect adventure plan To help students learn some survival skills in unexpected accidents. Teaching stress and difficulties: learn to use the new words according one’s travel plan learn how to survive in wilderness Teaching aid: Multimedia Teaching procedures: Lead-in: Review the traveling route. (Present the map of Africa on the screen. Students are asked to recall the traveling route mentioned in the reading part in this unit.) T: according to the letter from Toby to Aihua, Toby and Colin will be traveling to Africa, right? Then, do you still remember the traveling route? S: Yes. They will start from Britain by air. They will travel from Morocco and travel through the Sahara Desert by camel. Then they are going to travel along the River Nile and arrive at Lake Victoria where they will go white-water rafting. After that they will move on to Kenya to see wild animals and then they will climb Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania. T: Very good! Before they go to Africa, Toby and Colin are puzzled what they need to prepare. And on their adventure, something unexpected may happen to them. So they wish us were there sincerely.
