Teachers are obligated to pass on truth, and professional knowledge to generations, and to answer difficult questions. People are not born knowing truth or knowledge, how can it be possible that people wouldn’t have any questions during their lifetime? Those problems will remain unsolved, if people do not consult teachers when they have problems. Hence, regardless of people’s positions and age, teacher appears where truth lies. 读书的三种境界 鄙人以为读书的世人可以分为三种类型，一种是“书迷”；一种是“书痴”；一种是“书圣”，此三种人揭示了读书的三种境界。“书迷”酷爱读书，嗜好读书，可谓汗牛充栋，废寝忘食，伏案苦读，惺惺终日，唯恐一日不读书就赶不上“少奇”同志。然而读而无类，读而无序，繁杂错乱，费事而无果。“书痴”乃为更高境界，痴迷书籍，也能分门别类，把握要旨，引经据典，头头是道。然而皆信书中所言，不敢夸越雷池一步，十足的书呆子，充其量只是书籍的存储器。“书圣”者乃为最高境界，能去粗取精，把握本体，触类旁通，善于归纳、总结，有独到见解，言自己所言，能把握自己专业的大局。“书迷”者可爱，“书痴”者可悲，“书圣”者可贵。 In my opinion, people who read can be devided into 3 types, fan of books, fanaticism of books and sage of books. These 3 types of readers reflect the 3 levels of reading. Fan of books has enthusiastically fondness and hobby of reading. He may have an immense number of books, which can be enough to fill the roof. He may bend over his desk and read all day, in case he may fall behind others without one day’s reading. However, the fan of book read without clear classification. Reading without order gets half the results with double the effort. Fanaticism of books reaches a higher level. They have enthusiasm towards books , and they can classify the books, grasp the main idea and quote the classics. They can be closely reasoned and well-argued.
